Students:  Use the following Persuasive Essay Checklist to review your essay.
Your essay should be clear and and have a logical order.
The essay should have 5 paragraphs: one introductory paragraph, three reason paragraphs, and one summary paragraph.
Your introductory paragraph should contain a strong statement that clearly states your position.
Your introductory paragraph should begin with a punch to get the readers' attention.
Your introductory paragraph should include the reasons for your position.
You should have 3 paragraphs each containing one of these reasons that supports your position. 
You should elaborate on one reason in each paragraph.
Your paragraph should have a summary that contains a strong concluding statement that restates your point of view.
The summary should restate your reasons.
Your paragraph should contain adjectives, adverbs, metaphors, similes and demonstrate a sophisticated vocabulary and varied sentence structure.
