Columbia
BY SHAINA
FEBRUARY 1, 2003
On February first the space shuttle
called the Columbia blew up. Seven of the best scientists
in the world were in the space shuttle as it crashed. It was very sad because they were only 16
seconds from home. Then just when it was about to land it blew up. Some of the
space shuttle parts fell off, I think. I think that was extremely sad. Many
families lost at least one person in their family. I hope that does not happen to any other
people that are flying space shuttles today.

When the Columbia Crashed!
By Christopher
February 1,2003
On February 1, 2003 sixteen minutes
from landing, the Columbia blew up. Columbia took off on January 16, 2003. They were doing great up in
space, and they were so happy I think it is sad because their families were
watching them. I feel very depressed about it. I wish that it did not
happen. I hope that never happens to me.

The Day Columbia Exploded
February 1, 2003
By Jesse
I felt sad
when the space shuttle Columbia was lost. NASA lost 7 more people.
I wish the astronauts were alive. I wish they would come back down and live a
happy life. It was a tragedy to see the Columbia blow up while going back to Florida. They were all scientists. It broke
up over central Texas and there was debris everywhere.

I want to talk about the tragedy
that happened. The Columbia was 16 minutes away from home. The
people said they found debris from the tragedy. Seven scientists died in the
tragedy of the Columbia. I think two of them were
Christians. I’m very, very sorry for the
families who lost loved ones.

Tragedy in the Sky
February 1,
2003
By: Matisse
This
is Matisse reporting live from Kennedy Space Center. A tragedy has taken place here.
Sixteen minutes before it was scheduled to land, the shuttle Columbia exploded entering the atmosphere on
this Saturday, February 1, 2003. Debris has fallen from Dallas, Texas, to Arkansas. Seven scientists were on the ship:
Husband, Ramon, Chawla, Mccool,
Anderson, Brown, and Clark. One was from Israel. Sharing our fate with Israel may not be easy. There were no
survivors. People are reporting to have found human body parts.
I think some ceramic tiles fell off,
causing them to have no protection from the atmosphere’s heat. Families will
probably soon go into mourning. I was starting to think they would return home
safely. I think being an astronaut takes courage.

When the
Rocket Blew Up
February1, 2003
By Katie
I want to talk about the rocket that
blew up. It was very sad because seven scientists died. They were about 16
minutes from home and they didn’t make it. Today it crashed on February1, 2003.
These astronauts were very smart scientists.
I thought it was very scary. They
were smart to go to space. Those astronauts came down from space on February
1, 2003. I like the astronauts because they were very
brave astronauts. We should pray for their families.

By Shane
Today NASA
lost contact with the space shuttle Columbia.
They saw something come off and strike the left wing. Minutes
later people found debris in their yard. NASA knew something had gone wrong. President
Bush and I said we lost seven great scientists. I’m sad, but they were doing
their best to get back safely.

This week a spacecraft full of scientist crashed. I think it
was bad about the people who died. I like science because scientists make it
fun. When I herd about this spacecraft crashing I felt sorry them and their
families. This was a tragedy in the U.S.A. the Columbia is a spacecraft. There were sixteen minutes before they were

The Space Shuttle Crash of Columbia
By Dustin
On February 1,
2003, the Columbia exploded while coming back from
space. I hope the Colombia went to heaven. The shuttle was sixteen minutes before
landing when it burst into flames. Everybody thinks a chip of the wing broke
off. That is just a theory. We are still trying to figure it out.

Last
Saturday we had a sad event killing seven astronauts in a spacecraft. It blew up sixteen minutes before it would
land. It stayed in space for sixteen days before it would come down. They have
not found any body parts yet but I think they will.
