This is the second year of the
Write On project. The writing methods presented through this
project are also being duplicated through the Literacy project
conducted by our district reading specialist. Almost all
K-5 teachers in our district have been trained in these methods so
comparing achievement to a control and target group is not possible.
The following chart compares
student achievement on the 2004 Fifth Grade Writing Assessment Test.
The results are grouped by Current Write On Teachers, those
participating in the 2003-2004 project, Former Write On Teachers,
those who participated in the 2002-2003 project, and Non Write On
teachers those who have not participated in the project. These
scores are reflective of all students tested and includes all
special education and ESL students.
