Simple Machines

Simple machines make work easier.  The six simple machines are the lever, wedge, screw, inclines, planes, wheel and axle, and pulley.  They help us do many things.

A pulley is a machine made up of a wheel and rope.  Some examples of pulleys are flag poles, sail boats, and cranes.  Pulleys let you move objects up and down.

A screw is an inclined plane wrapped around a rod.  Some examples of a screw are clamps, spiral stair cases, and wrenches.  Screws hold things together.

An inclined plane is a flat surface that is higher on one end.  Some examples of an inclined plane are door stops, bike ramps, and slides.  Inclined planes help us move things to low or higher places.

What would people do without simple machines? Life would be really hard.  That’s why simple machines are really great things.

Simple machines make work easier.  The simple machines are inclined planes, screw, lever, wheel and axle, wedge, and a pulley.  A simple machine is two thins put together.

A screw is a simple machine.  A screw is two simple machines put together.  Jar lids, stools, and jacks are examples of screws.  Screws are used to lower or raise things and hold things together.

The wheel and axle are a simple machine.  The axle will turn when there is force on the wheel.  A car, wagon, and roller skates are examples of a wheel and axle.  A wheel and axle moves things from place to place.

A pulley is another simple machine.  A pulley is made of a wheel and a rope.  Flag poles, sail boats, and cranes are examples of a pulley.  A pulley moves loads up, down and sideways.

Simple machines are special to me.  Without simple machines work would be very hard.  Work is easier with simple machines.

Simple machines make the work we do easier.  There are six simple machines.  These machines are the pulley, wedge, lever, wheel and axle, inclined plane and screw.

The inclined plane is a simple machine that has a flat surface that is higher on one end.  Some examples of an inclined plane are a hill, an exculater, and stairs.  This machine helps to move things from a lower or higher place.

A pulley is made of a wheel and rope.  Examples of where pulleys can be found are flag poles, sailboats, and blinds.  The pulley helps you move thins up, down, and sideways.

Another simple machine is a wedge.  A wedge is a machine that helps push two things apart.  Knives, axes, and nails are examples of a wedge.  A wedge is made of two inclined planes.

Without these simple machines work would be much harder.  Daily life has been made simpler.  I am glad for the invention of these simple machines.

Simple machines make work easier.  The simple machines are inclined plane, screw, lever, wheel and axle, wedge, and pulley.  These machines are helpful to rock climbers, wood cutters, and even movers.

The screw is a simple machine.  It is made from other simple machines.  Some examples are jacks, clamps, and stools.  The screw is actually an inclined plane.

A wedge is a simple machine also.  A wedge pushes two things apart.  Some examples are knives, forks, and nails.  A wedge is made up of two inclined planes.

A pulley is another type of simple machines help many different people in many different ways.  Here are a couple of ways they might help you; you might use a lever to open a paint can and you might use an inclined plane to move boxes into a truck.

Simple machines make work easier.  The six simple machines are the inclined plane, screw, lever, wheel and axle, wedge, and pulley.  We use simple machines, a lot but we do not realize it.

My favorite simple machine is the pulley.  A pulley is made of a wheel and a rope.  A flag pole is an example of a pulley.  A sail boat is an example, too.  Pulleys let you move up, down, and sideways.

The screw is another simple machine.  A screw is an inclined plane that winds around itself.  A light bulb is an example of a screw.  A key ring is too! A screw has ridges along the side unlike a nail.

The inclined plane is alto a simple machine.  It is a flat surface that is higher on one end.  A hill, a slide, and a ramp are all examples of an inclined plane.  It moves to a high or low place and it makes work easier.

I think simple machines are a great thing to know how to use because they help.  Simple machines are used every day in every way! This explains how simple machines make work easier.

An inclined plane is a flat surface that is higher on one end than the other.  Inclined planes do not have any moving parts.  They decrease the effort of force needed to move you or an object from one height to another.  They do this by increasing the distance over which you or the object must move.  Some examples of an inclined plane is a slide or a ramp.

An inclined plane is a flat surface that is higher on one side than the other.  An inclined plane can be used in many different ways.  It can be used at businesses, homes, and schools.  Some examples of an inclined plane are slides and ramps.

A pulley is a wheel that turns on an axle.  An example of a pulley is a flagpole.  Some amusement park rides are examples of pulleys.  There are different types of pulleys such as a fixed pulley or a pulley that stays in the same place.  With a fixed pulley, you change the direction of force, not the force needed.  Then there’s a moveable pulley.

When you use a moveable pulley the total amount of force that is needed is reduced.  Sometimes sets of pulleys, or multiple pulleys, are used to lift heavy objects.  Very heavy weights such as pianos, car engines, heavy freight, or even animals, like horses are lifted with multiple pulleys.  I think that pulleys are helpful to millions of people.
