Use the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce web site to answer questions about Jefferson County found at Jefferson County FYI  through this activity students will not only learn to use the web, but also learn more about their home county. The White House
Student will explore the White House using the Internet site listed below.  Before the project begins discuss the White House as being the home of the president of the United States and his/her family.  The Scavenger hunt may be printed for students to supply answers or may be conducted as a whole class activity.

Black History Month
Students use the Internet to research a famous black leader.  PowerPoint may then be created (6 slides) providing a biography on a famous black leader.  Use this format:  title slide, slide 1 (place and date of birth), slide 2 (place and date of death or current status), slide 3 (detail an early life adventure), slide 4 (marriage/family info) slide 5 (educational background), and slide 6 (major contributions and accomplishments).
