Downloading
PowerPoint Presentations Through Internet Explorer| PowerPoint presentations are
available on the web in 4 forms: 1. Web Presentations These presentations are already online for viewing. A web presentation cannot be saved to a computer. The presentations can be viewed as a webpage with frames, or in Internet Explorer, viewed as a PowerPoint presentation. 2. Zipped Presentations These presentations are zipped or compressed to save time in downloading. They can be saved to the computer and opened (or unzipped) with a free program called, WinZip. To learn how to unzip these presentations, click HERE. 3. PowerPoint
file (.ppt) These presentations are saved as any
other PowerPoint would be saved. They can be saved to the
computer or they can be opened online.
4. Presentation file (.pps) These presentations work the same as the .ppt file except that they open immediately in the show mode. To download, use the steps above. If you wish to edit these files, right click the file name and change the .pps to .ppt. Ignore the warning screen indicating the file can become unstable. Steps to download and open presentations in Netscape are also available.
