March is National Nutrition Month. March brings spring weather, new beginnings for the earth, and a time for students and adults be revisit eating and exercise habits.  Visit these sites to develop strategies for improving life-style practices.

 

March is filled with a variety of activities including everything from March Madness, St. Patrick's Day, the first day of spring and spring holidays to Read Across America.

 Many of our schools take this time to devote special attention to reading and develop special events that center on reading.  Read Across America celebrates the birthday of Dr. Seuss on March 2, 2013.  If you have not planned your events, it is not too late to begin. National Women's History Month celebrates great women through the ages.  The 2011 theme, "Our History is Our Strength" places the spotlight on women of the 20th Century, highlighted in the National Portrait Gallery.  The Library of Congress has a wonderful collection of sites for National Women's History Month.  This site also has a guide for teachers.
