Planet Picks for April!  

 
   
April 22, 2013  celebrates the  Earth Day.  This is  a day dedicated to the environmental health of our planet. Earth Day is most often celebrated on April 22.  It is increasingly important to educate our students on ways to protect our planet and how to be good stewards of the land.  For Earth Day 2013, join millions of citizens across the globe and examine climate change..   A must visit site is The Dynamic Earth sponsored by the  Smithsonian Natural Museum of Natural History. Tree Planet is a free game that has a similar double-bottom-line concept as Free Rice. In the Tree Planet game, students plant and tend virtual trees.  When students' virtual trees are fully grown, Tree Planet and its partners will plant a real tree in Mongolia, the Republic of Sudan or South Korea. Tree Planet has partnerships with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification and World Vision. The Tree Planet game is available for Android and iPhone.
