Plant Cell Project - Mrs. Greeson's 3rd grade students visited Mrs. Martin's 7th grade science class.  The 7th and 3rd grade students worked together to make models of plant cells.  It  was a very hands on, fun experiment.  The students really got along and learned so much!  Plant Cell Photo Album

A Visit to the Ballinger Corn Maze

Tops and Bottoms - This is a reading project that Coach France, Mrs. O'Dell and Mrs. Greeson did with the story Tops and Bottoms. We brought actual vegetables in and planted them in soil.  The students got to see which grew above the ground, below the ground, or on top of the soil. At the end of the lesson, each student got a chance to taste some beets! YUMMY!

Mrs. Greeson's Class had a visitor recently.  Mrs. Amanda Wilson Taylor came to speak about her recent trip to Africa, Egypt and many other places.  Our class just finished reading a story about a boy from Tansania and his desire to save his money and buy his very own bicycle.  He earned his money by helping his mom take crops to market to sell. 

Mrs. Amanda brought pictures and video of her trip to Africa.  She also brought items that she collected while visiting.  She shared stories and even taught us some African words.  One of our favorite parts was when she us the paper money that is used in the various countries she visited.  We asked a lot of questions; but, she was nice and answered them all! 

The most important thing that she taught us was that even though some people we know speak, eat, dress, dance and believe differently than we do, we must all learn to appreciate the differences and learn from one another.  Before she left, she did a dance and sang in African to us!

We loved having her visit our classroom and share about Africa with us.  Hopefully, she will be able to visit us again near Christmas and share about Christmas in India.
