School Improvement Plan: Goal #1

Desired Learner Result:  Students will demonstrate their ability to accept personal responsibility, to impose self-direction, and to work collaboratively as appropriate.

Target area(s):  Provide ways for students, parents, and staff to better understand ways in which they share responsibility for student's achievement and behavior.

Goal statement:  The parent and student will become jointly responsible for the academic achievement and behavior of the student.
 

School Improvement Plan:  Goal #2

Desired Learner Result:  Students will achieve their full potential in mathematics, science, social studies, research, technology, environmental concerns, and the fine arts and will communicate effectively through reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Target area(s):  Develop strategies which challenge students to think critically and solve problems using multiple options.

Goal statement:  The staff will develop grade level programs to improve critical thinking and problem solving and incorporate these into their math curriculum.
 
 

School Improvement Plan:  Goal #3

Desired Learner Result:  Students will achieve their full potential in mathematics, science, social studies, research, technology, environmental concerns, and the fine arts and will communicate effectively through reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Target area(s):  Develop instructional activities to improve comprehension and writing abilities.

Goal statement:  The school will offer opportunities for the student to improve his or her level of comprehension and the quality of the student's writing.

Desired Learner Result:  Students will exhibit pride in themselves, their school, and communities and show respect for the world.

Target area(s):  The student will be challenged to appreciate the rights of others and to demonstrate appropriate behavior toward others.

Goal statement:  The school will provide opportunities for students to show responsibility, respect, citizenship, and caring in their world.
