LINK is a transition/orientation program designed to inform, motivate, and encourage incoming freshmen. 

Who?  ALL incoming freshmen

When?  Tuesday, August 11, 2009

How?  Freshman students will be picked up at middle schools by bus at 1:00 p..m., or they can be dropped off at JCHS by a parent. 

Parents MUST pick up their students at JCHS at end of program.  NO RETURN BUSES TO MIDDLE SCHOOLS.

Schedule:

1:30-2:00

Meet & Greet students, Welcome, and Group Students for Activities

 2:05-2:50

Session 1

(Newspaper Dress-up/Secrets of High School Success/Pep Rally & Games)

2:55-3:40

Session 2 (Same activities as above)

 3:45-4:05

Break and Snack in Commons, Clean Up

 4:10-4:55

Session 3 (Same activities as above)

Teachers need to be in their rooms from 5:00-6:15.

Parents:  Report to the gym to find your student’s schedule at 5:00.  Please be prepared in case of rain since the portables require walking outside.

Class Schedule run with freshmen and parents.  (Meet your teachers and get to know your way around the building.)  The schedule run will begin in students’ homerooms.

We will ring a bell to rotate from each “period.”  These are 10-minute “quick visits.”

            A:  Principal Q & A in GYM

            B:  New Graduation Requirements in MEDIA CENTER

            C:  College Readiness in COMMONS AREA

Pep Rally and Meet the Freshman Patriot Football Players

The Band Boosters will offer concessions for sale beginning at 6:30.

Students must dress appropriately for school activities and should bring money for concessions provided beginning at 6:30.  Students may have cell phones, but they must be turned off during the activities.
