JOB DESCRIPTION:
WIA Program—Case Manager
Nature of Work
Employee is responsible for case management aspects of the WIA Program. Recruit, test, and place participants in the appropriate education and occupational setting. Develop occupational skills with youth. Establish attainable goals and help provide the tools to achieve goals. Follow up for twelve months after exit on participants.
Illustrative Examples of Work
- Document eligibility
- Administer appropriate tests for educational level, career interests and aptitude. Score and interpret results.
-Place individual in appropriate educational and occupational goals.
-Develop a strategy for services to participants.
-Foster relationships with similar service agencies, i.e.—Department of Human Services, Family Resource Center, Adult Education, Vocational Rehabilitation.
-Originate and maintain case management notes based on progress of each participant.
-Responsible for visiting job sites, collecting time sheets—verifying for accuracy, etc.
-Provide for flexible hours to accommodate fluid operation of the program. For example, after hours work site visitation, attending district meetings, collecting time sheets during holiday breaks.
-Discuss progress with work site supervisors concerning number or hours as well as participants task learning.
-Maintain accurate records for monitoring purposes.
-Follow up requirements on each participant.
Requirements
B.S. degree and related experience required.
