Technology Grant Awards
  Goals 2000-2001
MathNet ($49,497) will provide a wireless portable laptop computer lab for Rush Strong students in grades 2-4, to improve student achievement in math utilizing software and Internet resources for the 2000-2001 school year.
MathER ($29,338) will provide Accelerated Math, a student management program, and Orchard Teacher's choice software to improve specific math skills for Jefferson Middle School math students.  The project will also use Internet Math projects and Web Quests to reach higher achieving students or the 2000-2001 school year.
Skills on the Go! ($50,750) will provide a wireless portable laptop computer lab for Talbott Elementary School students to improve math and reading skills for the 2000-2001 school year.
Window to the World A Collaborative Project ($10,000) is a student initiated grant that will utilize technology to create a cross curricular link between Jefferson County High School's Art department and the Knoxville Museum of Art.
Goals 2000- 1999-2000
Accelerated Reader-Technology Proposal ($ 28,926 ) provides computers and printers to primary classrooms at Jefferson Elementary School in an effort to integrate the Accelerated Reader program into the curriculum.
3 R's (Reading, Writing, & RAM) ($ 50,905) created a writing/reading lab program at Piedmont Elementary School with the addition of 25 networked computers and software.
Project Second Helping ($ 31,881) created a second grade program which addresses student auditory discrimination problems using computers and lower student teacher ratios.
TLG
Technology Literacy Grant 2001
This year 196 Jefferson County teachers have committed to participation in the 2001 TLG initiative adding their unit plans to the online database at TrackStar.
Technology Literacy Grant 2000
Teachers in Jefferson County earned $51,835 to be spent on technology in their classroom during the 2000-2001 school year by developing an online unit of study designed to address an academic need in their students.  An additional $3000 was earned by several teachers who were selected to participate in research.
Technology Literacy Grant 99
Teachers in Jefferson County earned $51,500 to be spent on technology in their classroom during the 1999-2000 school year by completing 6 online tasks.
