Preschool

Governors Pre-K Programs

Jefferson County Schools offer “free” preschool programs at every elementary school in our county.  Our quality preschool programs will serve 18-20 children at each site and will meet 5 days a week for 5 ½ hours each day. Transportation will be provided by the parent.

Student eligibility criteria:

• Students must be four years of age by

      September 30^th of the year enter Pre-K

First priority will be given to students who reside within the geographic school zone for the pre-K site and meet one or more of the following criteria:

• Family income meets Pre-K eligibility.

• Students with disabilities, students identified as English Language Learners, in state custody, or those as educationally at-risk for failure due to circumstances of abuse or neglect.
• Other eligibility criteria are considered for pre-K entry after school begins as determined by Jefferson County Pre-K committee.
