The ABC's of ESL
A Basic Introduction
For students who have different language backgrounds, learning
the English language can be a very difficult task.
What is the ESL Program?
(English as a Second Language)
What the program intends to do is to provide English language assistance
to
children (ages 5 to 18) during the school day.
The program is conducted in English and the focus is:
-
To teach English to help students achieve success while attending
school.
-
To teach English to help students successfully adapt to and participate
in American society.
The program takes 3 to 5 years, depending on the individual student.
