School News

In the school news, our third graders had an ice-cream sale today.  Our report cards are coming out  in 10 days.  We will not have school November 25,26, and 27th.  Happy Thanksgiving!!
 

Science News

We have been studying weather in Science.  The weather this week is so far mostly sunny, except for Friday.  It will be a little cloudy with rain.

There is a large storm hitting the western part of the United States near Washington and Oregon.
 

Social Studies News

Columbus was born in Genoa, Italy.  When he was 14 years old he got his first job on a ship.
When he was 24 he almost lost his life at sea off the coast of Portugal.  His ship was mistaken for an enemy warship and was sunk.  Columbus was wounded but made it to shore.  He soon set sail for Asia, but could not go through because of the new lands.
 

  Current Events
 “Iraq Coming out of a Crisis”

The U.N.  Weapons inspectors are inspecting Iraq’s weapons.  The agency said that the Iraqi  provided all the cooperation for the inspection teams.  They are looking for toxic, chemical weapons in Iraq.
 

Thought for the Week

The thought for the week is “Treat others the way you want to be treated”.  If you treat people the way you want to be treated, then good will come to you.  Kindness is the best thing you can do to other people.  Don’t fight people back if they fight you.  Violence is not a good thing.
 

Birthdays

Eric’s Birthday was on Sunday, November 15.  We weren’t here on Sunday, so we signed his card on Monday.

Jacole’s  birthday was on Monday, November 16.  He turned 11 years old.  He got a card that everybody had signed.

Lestie’s  birthday  was on Thursday, November 19.  She turned 11. Thank you, Lestie, for giving us cookies.  They were very good!!  Everyone signed a card for her.
