Overview
The learner will distinguish between fantasy and reality
Procedures
Explain fantasy as something that could not happen
Reality is something that could happen
Read a story such as FROG AND TOAD ARE FRIENDS to illustrate fantasy
Read a story such as IRA SLEEPS OVER to illustrate reality
Large group activity- "Fantasy or Reality?"- Teacher reads a statement and students write on personal message board which the statement is.
Evaluation- Teacher types phrases on MS Word- display on TV screen –students circle the phrases that are fantasy
Follow up – Students choose to write a fantasy or reality story for International Kids’ Space
