Go-Around-Cup – put a stick with each
student’s name in cup. Reach in and
pull stick to let children have a turn to answer. There is a cup within a cup so that when
a stick is pulled, it goes to the outer cup.
-
Daily Behavior Sheet
-
5-4-3-2-1 (voice control and counting
backwards; by the time you reach one, voices are taken to a whisper.

Cans on each table. Students put trash in cans; this cuts
down on floor traffic which can cause problems.
-
Hero Cheer:
reinforces good behavior after you find someone
-
Go Around Cup: the students give a favorite praise work,
you put on popsicle
stick. As you call on
children move stick to another cup that is inside the go around cup.

In my classroom my students are grouped by
tables. Each table has an incentive
jar. The students get rewards when
their table’s jar is full. (homework passes, lunch in the room, free ice cream,
etc.)
-
I use a behavior chart with colored cards. Each color of card is a certain behavior
with a punishment for misbehavior.
-
We do weekly behavior reports.
-
We use daily assignment planners to
communicate work/behavior to parents.
-
For behavior incentive in my class, I use a
jar and add a golf ball to it each time a rule, good deed is done. When they receive 25 golf balls, they
receive a party of choice.
-
At the beginning of the year, I purchase an
assignment book for each child. They
write daily assignment in it. This
lets parents know what they need to complete for homework.
-
I use a sticker sheet to reinforce good
behavior and homework completion. If
the student doesn’t turn a colored card on that day, and turned in all
homework assignments completed, he/she gets a sticker on a sticker chart. When they get 20 stickers, they get to
choose something form my treasure box.
-
I have used a “behavior notebook” in my
classroom. A sheet for every student
is kept in a notebook at the teacher’s desk. The teacher writes the student’s
misbehavior in the notebook. After 3
offenses a note goes home that must be returned signed. After 5 offenses another note is sent
home requesting a conference. After
9 offenses the sheet is given to the principal for discipline. Each 9 weeks the sheets are changed,
giving the students a fresh start.
Students without receiving a note home during the 9 weeks receive
rewards (homework passes, popcorn treat, etc.)

week may be turned in for a piece of candy or placed in the raffle jar to
be pulled for a special prize.
