Challenging Individuals to Achieve Excellence

Literacy Education for Adolescent Development

x
Professional Development

The key to the success of any reading initiative is professional development. Professional development will be provided to both teachers and 6-12 administrators. Only if school administrators are actively engaged and understand strategies provided through professional development for teachers, will they insure the implantation of these strategies in the classroom. We will also offer professional develop training in reading in the content area to our 4th and 5th grade teachers to begin to train our students in reading strategies that will impact their performance in middle and high school. The professional development will span the three-years of this project in order to provide teachers an opportunity to absorb and implement these new practices.
