Welcome to the PreK-5th grade Curriculum webpage.
Elementary Education serves three major purposes in our society: to give students a basic foundation for learning the core subjects (reading, math, science, and social studies), to help students learn about their environment and society, and to foster students’ interest in duty and responsibility within their own community.
A quality elementary education centers in intensive reading instruction. Parents and community members can support students by modeling and encouraging reading for everyone. Reading a minimum of 20 minutes each day with your child can positively impact your child’s success in reading. Language and communication skills are also mastered through rich cultural experiences and conversations based on science and social studies ideas. Math education is a key to understanding the world around us. It encompasses the study of numbers, quantities, shapes, and measurements and how they relate to each other. A solid foundation in mathematics will serve our students well throughout their school career as well as in adult life.
