May 4-10th is Teacher Appreciation Week and Tuesday, May 6 is National Teacher Day.  We want to thank all of our teachers for the wonderful work they do in providing students in Jefferson County the best educational experiences!  We encourage our students and parents to send a note (or email) of appreciation to a teacher.  For more information about the weeklong celebration, visit the PTA's Web site.
   

The consolidated application for federal funds under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires all teachers who taught in Tennessee public schools during the 2007-2008 school year to complete a brief online survey. Upon completion,  please record the confirmation number on your building principal's log.  The survey deadline is May 16, 2008.  To review the directions and complete the survey, click HERE.

Teaching After TCAPThink of the first day back after TCAP as the first day of the next school year.  Explore engaging classroom activities designed to motivate students as the school year wraps up at Teaching After TCAP.
   

Pre-K screenings are now available for Fall 2008. Please call the Family Resource Center at 475-4596 for more information.

LEAD

Learn more about LEAD, our reading project for students in grades 6-9 funded by the Niswonger Foundation.  
   
Check out Terry Sams' New Scott Foresman Presentations for 4th grade found on the ScottForesman link on our Curriculum page.  The Horned Prince has just been added, so check back often for updates.  There are also wonderful resources found at Kristi Waltke's ScottForesman's Reading Street site for grades K-5.  Sign up now to join the Mossy Creek Literacy Council!
 

   

Dynamic Curriculum

Our Dynamic Curriculum project provides links and presentations aligned with the Tennessee BluePrint for Learning.  These resources are created or collected by Jefferson County teachers.  The site is a work in progress, so check back often!  Currently the project hosts teaching materials for health, science, language arts, and math.
   

Jefferson County School's Exceptional Children website offers resources for parents, students, and teachers.  The student site provides interactive activities that support the Tennessee curriculum.  Be sure to check it out!  This link will be posted permanently on our Quick Links section.
